The 2nd round of the Supersport HNL was played last weekend, and below is a brief overview of the matches

VARAŽDIN – SLAVEN BELUPO 2:2 (Mitrovski 5′, Brodić 28’/Hoxha 81′, Brodić 86′-11m)
The first match of the 2nd round was between Varaždin and Slaven Belup. Varaždin had 2:0, but the Pharmaceutics pulled out at the last minute. Mitrovski and Brodić bring Varaždin into the lead, and towards the end of the game, Hoxha and Mioč save Slaven Belupo and bring a point to Koprivnica. Varaždin had the advantage from the 5th minute, imposed the game on their mill, and directed it in the way they wanted.

Although Varaždin had its opportunities to increase the lead to a three-goal difference, and as they did not take advantage of them, the guests from Koprivnica took advantage of what was offered, and at the end of the game, they came back and took home a point. Guests can be satisfied with that. Varaždin did not play any particular game, but its players disciplined followed the instructions and fulfilled all their obligations in defense, and by the 30th minute, their offensive players had made it 2:0. But they couldn’t hold on and lost two valuable points.

ISTRIA – DINAMO 0-3 (Ivanušec 6′, Emreli 57′, Ljubičić 69′)
Dinamo came to their first away game this season and routinely did their job. Dinamo took the lead in the 6th minute through Ivanušec, and after that they pressed Istra and kept the ball at their feet. Only after the middle of the first half did Istria start to open up and get out of its block. However, there was not much hope for the people of Pula.

In the second half, Dinamo starts with a routine game, and in the 57th minute, Emreli increases the score to 2:0.

GORICA – LOKOMOTIVA 1-0 (Blummel 90’+1′)
Gorica celebrated beating Lokomotiva at its stadium. A large part of the match was played slowly with many mistakes, and the guests were in the lead in that segment. There were no great attempts, even though Gorica was better in the game. Both of them tried until the end of the game, but the reinforcements of the club from the suburbs managed to score in stoppage time.

RUDEŠ – OSIJEK 3:4 (Lazarov 23′, Pasariček 34′, 39’/Mierez 43′, Caktaš 76′, 83′, 89′)
So that the weekend on the Croatian lawns did not turn out to be boring and without any content, the players from Rudeš and Osijek made sure that we had some excitement. Namely, the players of the famous Robert Prosinečki had a 3:0 lead until the 34th minute, and the game and rhythm in their possession, only for Mierez, who scored for the third game in a row, to reduce the deficit and go to the break with 3:1.

As Prosinečki said, Rudeš players were good in the first half, but inexperience reigns among them. Caktaš, who entered the game in the 70th minute, ensured Osijek would return entirely and turn it in their favor. Already in the 76th minute, he reduces the score, and seven minutes later, he equalizes it, while towards the end of the match, he scores his first hat trick of the season and brings points to the city on the Drava. Osijek is in a good rhythm for now, considering they have already scored ten goals after two games.

HAJDUK – RIJEKA 1:0 (Pukštaš 50′)
Hajduk fulfilled all the expectations of Poljud. Split’s team was better and of better quality, they attacked, and Rijeka seemed to panic and did not have too many threats, although they had flashes. It was not the Adriatic derby that every football fan would like, but it was played, and Hajduk deservedly won.
