The ride took place in Levi, Finland. This season’s second slalom for women skiers brought a lot of satisfaction to skiing lovers in Croatia. With this result, Popović equaled the best result of Croatian female skiers after the Janica Kostelić era
Croatian skier Leona Popović won second place, while Zrinka Ljutić finished in tenth place in the second slalom race of the season. This is the second podium in Leona Popović’s career after she was also second in the last race of the last season in Solde, Andorra.
After the first race, Popović was fifth, but in the second race, she was faster and took second place. In the end, she finished 18 hundredths of a second behind today’s best skier – the American Mikeale Schffrin. German Lena Duerr was third. The Slovakian skier Petra Vlhova “hacked” the door.
Zrinka Ljutić was 1.45 seconds behind the first female skier and took tenth place. In yesterday’s slalom, Ljutić was ninth, and Popović was tenth, while Vlhova won. Popović is third in the slalom standings with 105 points, and Ljutić is tenth with 55 points. Popović is in fifth place and Ljutić is in 11th place in the overall standings.
Let’s hope they keep scoring. We need to get back to the old glory days.
