Croatia achieved its first victory at the Olympic Games qualification tournament. The new manager started Croatia’s adventure with a victory, and Austria held on well for a very long time. Austria has shown that it is not a casual passer in handball and that it can play well.

In the first half, Croatia did not play well. Austria led the whole half, even though the score was 16:16 at the break. At one point, Gojun received a red card and missed the rest of the game. It wasn’t easy for him to watch Croatia struggling.

Croatia opened the second half well and gained an advantage of three to four goals. In the second half, Croatia kept the game and the rhythm, and Kuzmanović stood on goal at one point, saving several safe opportunities created by the Austrians.

Croatia won with a score of 35:29, so Sigurdsson had success in the debut of the Croatian handball team. Good luck to our handball players in the further competition.
