At the beginning of the summer, Dinamo was left without a coach, and the bench remained empty until now. In the new season, the team will be led by Josip Sesar, yesterday’s coach of the Zagreb great KK Cibone. Sesar is currently the coach of the Croatian national basketball team.
This is Sesar’s fourth club in his career, and he managed Zrinjevac, Gorica, and Cibona. With KK Gorica, he reached the semi-finals of the playoffs twice, and with Cibona, he won the Krešimir Ćosić Cup.
The year before last, I had already talked to club members, and they expressed interest in cooperation. I had other options and plans then. As the situation with Cibona developed, the club contacted me. I asked for a break of ten days to think about everything. Looking from the side, because I wasn’t inside, with the information I received about a robust, healthy, and potent team, I decided to accept the offer and take over the Dinamo first team. And I have a long-term plan with KK Dinamo – said Sesar for the club website.
The current coach of the Croatian national team will lead Dinamo in the Premier League and the Alpe Adria Cup next season. In the locker room, the backbone of the team that reached the quarter-finals of the Premier League playoffs and the semi-finals of the Krešimir Ćosić Cup is waiting for him in the first season.
