HNL REVIEW: HAJDUK DEFEATED VARAŽDIN, RIJEKA AND DINAMO SHARED THE POINTS AT RUJEVICA

Another round was played in the HNL marathon. Hajduk won against Varaždin, and Istria won against Rudeš

SLAVEN BELUPO – GORICA 0:0
SLAVEN BELUPO
: Sušak – Bosec, Boras, Božić, Štefulj – Lepinjica (Caimacov 46′), Mioč – Šakota (Nongoh 75′), Liber (Cascini 59′), Hoxha – Štrkalj (Kamberi 75′).
GORICA: Banić – Nielsen, Raspopović, Leš, Štiglec – Soldo (Majstorović 85′), Mrzljak, Pršir (Šroler 90’+2′), Mitrović (Vujnović 69′) – Ndockyt (Jurić 85′) – Matavž (Blummel 69′) )

In front of slightly more than 600 spectators in Koprivnica, Slaven Belupo and Gorica shared the points. That’s how Slaven Belupo managed to break a negative streak of three consecutive defeats in all competitions. Maybe they didn’t succeed in the way they wanted, but they managed to break the negative streak.

The match ended without goals, although there were chances. At least as far as the hosts are concerned, because Gorica created a few non-threatening opportunities. Gorica retreated and focused on defense and the counter. This allowed them not to concede a goal and win a point, and they returned home satisfied. The guests were weakened, given that they were missing Maloča and Krizmanić.

The hosts created chances, they had the creation in the game. But what is it worth to them when there is no realization? There were no goals until the end of the match, and in the second half the tempo of the game dropped. This resulted in no change in the result at all.

RUDEŠ – ISTRA 1961 0:4 (Maurić 14′, Erceg 26′, 45’+3′- 11m, Vuk 57′)
RUDEŠ: Marković – Tomečak, Matć, Pavlović, Pavković (Pavlek 17′) – Bašić (Lazarov 46′), Srbljinović, Pasariček – Oddei, Pešić (Špeljak 46′), Kovačević (Petković 65′)
ISTRA: Majkić – Kadušić, Iovu, Marešić (Bjorkander 65′), Devetak – Mlinar (Nebyla 73′), Blagojević (Petrusenko 65′), Maurić – Lisica (Matheus 65′), Erceg, Vuk (Ekong 75′)

Who let Rudeš into the first division? Or an even better question: what did the management of Rudeš do when they were choosing the staff that would play at the highest level of Croatian football? We don’t know the answers to these two questions. Rudeš lost 0:4 in Kranjčevićeva Street in Zagreb. Istra currently skipped Slaven Belupo, with whom they have the same number of points.

It’s safe to say that Rudeš is used to defeats, and here and there to a point. They still don’t know how to win. By the end of the first half, Istria had three goals. The scorers were Maurić in the 14th minute Erceg in the 26th minute and in the third minute of injury time of the first half. The second goal was scored from a penalty kick.

And the second half was in the same vein. The guests were attacking, and it seemed that they dropped a little in speed within the game itself. However, in the 57th minute, Vuk scored for the final score of 0:4. The result did not change until the end, and Istria won another three points.

OSIJEK – LOKOMOTIVA 1:1 (Fiolić 87’/Tuci 11′)
OSIJEK: Malenica – Gržan (Fiolić 46′), Duarte, Bralić – Omerović, Nejašmić (Lovrić 70′), Brlek (Jugović 46′), Bukvić (Matković 46′) – Caktaš (Živković 80′), Pušić – Mierez.
LOKOMOTIVA: Čavlina – Bartolec, Živković, Mersinaj, Leovac – Bubanja, Smakaj (Kalaica 90’+1′) – Krivak (Kanižaj 62′), Mudražija (Bošković 79′), Goričan – Tuci

Osijek continues to pour out points. It could be said that Osijek is giving points away to its opponents. After two successive losses, Osijek managed to win one point. And he managed to save himself at the very end of the match. Osije, can you come up? You are shouting that nothing is going your way!

The game didn’t start well for Osijek. First, they got a portion of insults from the stands, and then in the 11th minute, Lokomotiva took the lead. Tuci was the shooter. Osijek did not have any solutions for Lokomotiva. The home team reached Lokomotiva’s penalty area, but most often without any realization.

Zoran Zekić made changes at halftime to wake up his team. But without any significance as the result did not change. Until the 87th minute, at least. That’s when Fiolić scored to tie the score. This gave Osijek a point. All those who support Osijek can be disappointed with the game of their club.

HAJDUK – VARAŽDIN 3:1 (Pukštas 35′, Šarlija 38′, Krovinović 67’/ Uremović 83′ – ag)
HAJDUK: Lučić – Sigur (Kalik 76′) – Uremović, Šarlija (Elez 82′), Diallo (Hrgović 76′) – Pukštas, Žaper (Moufi 46′), Krovinović – Benrahou (Dajaku 62′), Livaja, Sahiti
VARAŽDIN: Zelenika – Vukčević, Jelenić (Škaričić 89′), Pëllumbi, Bručić (Bručić 58′) – Postonjski, Marina (Banovec 58′) – Mitrovski, Belcar, Drožđek (Vugrinec 79′) – Šego (Domjanić 46′)

This was the best performance of Hajduk in this season. The home team won against Varaždin 3:1. But again, given the strength of the opponent, they should have beaten this team under the “must”. Varaždin was a very weak opponent and can’t be a particular benchmark for success. But the victory of the home team cannot be contested.

Hajduk did not score in the first half until this match. That changed in the 35th minute when Pukštas scored to give the home team the lead. But it didn’t end there. Already three minutes later, Šarlija increased the lead, and that was the final score of the first half.

Hajduk got off to a better start in the second half. However, for the big action, we waited until the 67th minute when Filip Korvinović scored for 3:0. Hajduk had its opportunities, but could not score more than these three goals. Varaždin scored a goal before the end of the game. Uremović scored his own goal. The final result is Hajduk’s victory 3:1.

RIJEKA – DINAMO 2:2 (Selahi 53′, Mitrović 88/Špikić 41′, Perić 81′)
RIJEKA: Labrović – Smolčić, Dilaver, Mitrović, Goda (Čabraja 55′) – Selahi (Radeljić 87′) – Pašalić (Yansane 87′), Fruk (Banda 72′), Janković, Pjaca – Ivanovic (Obregon 72′)
DINAMO: Zagorac – Moharrami (Perić 65′), Ristovski, Theophile, Perković – Ademi, Mišić (Sučić 90′) – Špikić (Vidović 65′), Baturina (Bulat 75′), Kaneko (Marin 75′) – Kulenović

In front of just over 8,000 people, Rijeka and Dinamo played another derby worth mentioning. Dinamo came to Rijeka weakened, while Rijeka played with a full squad. The match began well for Dinamo. From the 13th minute to the 15th minute, Dinamo had three big and likely chances with which they could have taken the lead. But the visitors were unable to score. After that, the hosts and the guests created chances.

We waited for a goal until near the end of the first half. In the 41st minute, Špikić scored to give the guests the lead. Namely, due to missed opportunities, Rijeka players were nervous, so they committed unnecessary fouls. And in the case of fouls committed by Dinamo players, tensions grew in all directions. Until the end of the first half, there were no yellow cards, and then in a few minutes there were several.

Rijeka started the second half better. She had a clear chance to tie the score at the very beginning of the second half. There was not much waiting for the equalizer. After a shortened corner, that is, a free kick from the side, Selahi scores with a header to nullify the guests’ lead.

The home team and guests kept a high pace of play. Rijeka and Dinamo had chances to score a goal, although Rijeka had a little better chance. We waited for a goal until the 81st minute when Dino Perić scored to give Dinamo the new lead. Just seven minutes later, Čabraja crosses the ball six meters from the goal, and Mitrović knocks it into the goal. Thus, Rijeka and Dinamo shared the points.
